Gadag police seize cash, liquor
On Wednesday evening, Betageri police seized Rs 1.43 lakh cash from a car without proper documents. The driver, Mallappa Radder, and a hardware businessman, Hamiraram Dalasi, were transporting the money in a Maruti Vitara Brezza car.
The police stopped the car at a check post near Dandin Durgamma temple to prevent any election-related unlawful activities and found the cash. During the inquiry, the accused did not furnish proper documents.
In another incident, Gadag Town Police seized Rs 15 lakh cash that was being illegally transported. The accused, Gousemoyinuddin Netri and Yallappa Mulgund, were transporting the cash in an Ashoka Leyland truck without any proper documents from Laxmeshwar to Gadag. The police found the cash during a routine check of the vehicle at Kutira check-post and registered a case.
At Dundur check-post, the Gadag police also seized 25 bottles of Blenders Pride liquor that were being transported illegally.
Additionally, the Laxmeshwar police seized Rs 4.50 lakh cash that was being illegally transported in a Hyundai i10 car near Ramageri check-post. The driver, Basavaraj Ontipadiyappa, was transporting the cash.
