Bengaluru: The Karnataka legislature’s budget session will begin on February 10 with a speech by Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot, and the state budget will be delivered on February 17 by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
In this regard, the decision was made at the state cabinet meeting on Friday.
Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister J. C. Madhuswamy told reporters following the Cabinet meeting that the Governor would address a joint session of the State legislature on February 10, the first session of the year.
15-day budget session
The Minister stated that the Cabinet was considering convening a 15-day budget session. However, because most legislators will be preoccupied with poll-related work, the legislature’s business advisory committee will decide on the length of the session based on their opinions, he added.
