Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has announced that his party, the Janata Dal (Secular), would contest the upcoming Assembly election in the state in alliance with Telangana Rashtra Samiti (now Bharat Rashtra Samiti).
The former CM of Karnataka took part in the TRS general body meeting organised at the party headquarters in Hyderabad. The GB took a unanimous decision to rename the TRS as Bharat Rashtra Samiti. HD Kumaraswamy also stated that they would fight the 2024 Lok Sabha election together. He said that his party legislators and leaders would accompany Telangana CM KCR during his tour of other states.

2023ರ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಂತರ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್-ಬಿಜೆಪಿ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಹೊರತಾದ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಸರಕಾರ ತರಲು ಎರಡೂ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳು ಸದೃಢವಾಗಿ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಲಿವೆ. ನಮಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಬಲ ನೀಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆಸಿಆರ್ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರದ್ದೇ ಆದ ಸ್ವಾಭಿಮಾನದ ಸರಕಾರದ ಬೇಕು. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಚರ್ಚಿಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. 2/4

ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರ ರಾಜಕಾರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರ್ಯಾಯ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿತ್ತು. ಕೆಲ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ʼರಾಜಕೀಯ ಏಕಸ್ವಾಮ್ಯತೆʼ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾರಕ. ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂತ್ಯ ಹಾಡುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಬಿಆರ್ ಎಸ್ ಒಂದು ʼಪ್ರಬಲ ಪರ್ಯಾಯʼ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ನನ್ನ ಭಾವನೆ. ಬಿಆರ್ ಎಸ್ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯನ್ನು ನಾವು ಮುಕ್ತ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಸ್ವಾಗತಿಸುತ್ತೇವೆ. 3/4
