Hubballi: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will visit Hubballi on August 2, and the Gandhi scion is likely to visit the national flag-making unit in Bengeri on that day.
If Rahul visits the Bengeri flag manufacturing unit, it will be a significant boost to the fight or agitation launched by young Congress leader Rajat Ullagaddimath, who is creating awareness about the BJP government’s decision to amend the flag code, which allows the manufacture and sale of polyester-made national flags, effectively killing the Khadi industry.
Rajat, who launched the “let’s spin” campaign against the Union government’s decision, has drawn the attention of state Congress leaders and, finally, Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul will land at Hubballi airport at around 6 pm and he is likely to visit Khadi Gramodyog Unit at Bengeri. The detailed itinerary of Gandhi is yet to be released.
Rahul will stay in Hubballi on Tuesday night, and the next day, he will leave for Davanagere to take part in the birthday celebration of the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah.
