Shivamogga: The members of Karnataka Pradesh Yuva (youth) Congress staged a unique protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office condemning the hike in fuel prices.

In many cities across Karnataka, petrol price crossed Rs 100 per litre mark, condemning the hike in fuel price the Yuva Congress members staged a unique protest.

The protesters alleged that the Modi government promised ‘Acche Din’ and came to power but people are witnessing ‘Bure Din’. They alleged that the Modi government rubbed salt on the wounds of common by increasing the fuel price, the common man is suffering like anything because of Covid pandemic and restrictions imposed to curb the spreading of novel Coronavirus.

The Congress activists charged that when the UPA government was in power petrol rate was Rs 75 per litre and diesel was around at Rs 64 per litre, now the petrol has scored a century. Because of a surge in the fuel price, the prices of essential commodities have also started surging. The Modi government made the common man’s life hell. “ The government created an atmosphere where poor and middle-class unable lead a life,” they charged.

Congress leaders Chetan K, Ramesh Hegde, Taranath, Madhusudhan, Vinay, Girish, Mallik Nayak, Balaji, Ravi, Vijay, Manju, Chandroji Rao, Sandeep, Abdul and others were present.
