Kalaburgi: On Sunday, Income Department officials conducted a search operation at the home, hotel, and other properties belonging to Arvind Chouhan, a supporter of Congress MLA and Chittapur candidate Priyank Kharge, in Kalaburgi.
The move has drawn sharp criticism from Kharge, who has accused the authorities of conducting the raids to send a threatening message to him about the consequences of supporting the Congress and being actively involved in the party.
Expressing his dismay over the timing of the operation, Kharge has claimed that it was politically motivated and aimed at creating a sense of fear among his supporters. In response to the raids, Arvind Patil has accused the BJP of resorting to unethical tactics to intimidate their political opponents.
Kharge has also accused the BJP of using government agencies like the IT department to further their own political agenda, suggesting that the ruling party is using such tactics because they are not confident of winning the election.
