New Delhi: India’s Pragyan rover has successfully altered its route following an encounter with a four-meter crater on the Moon’s surface.
In a Monday afternoon tweet, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) reported that the rover had identified the crater at a safe distance of three meters from the rim, prompting a redirection to a more secure path.
Operating on solar power, the six-wheeled rover will explore the relatively uncharted terrain, transmitting imagery and scientific insights during its planned two-week operational span.
