New Delhi: India’s ambitious Aditya-L1 spacecraft mission has captured and transmitted stunning images of the Earth and the Moon as it journeys towards its designated destination, the Lagrangian point (L1), situated at a distance of 1.5 million kilometers from Earth.
These captivating snapshots, along with a unique selfie taken by Aditya-L1, were unveiled by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on their official Twitter account.
“Aditya-L1, en route to the Sun-Earth L1 point, has captured self-portraits and mesmerizing images of our home planet and its natural satellite,” announced the national space agency headquartered in Bengaluru.
The images offer a glimpse of the VELC (Visible Emission Line Coronagraph) and SUIT (Solar Ultraviolet Imager) instruments, as observed by the onboard camera of Aditya-L1, all on the date of September 4, 2023.
