Hubballi: Residents who had been hoping to have some fun outdoors after easing of lockdown and wanted to go shopping for essentials had all their plans dashed by the weather, with rain lashing the city intermittently throughout the day. It has been raining intermittently in Hubballi since Tuesday afternoon, but it was near incessant on Wednesday.
Although the rain threw the spanner in the plans of many people, a restricted public activity meant that normal life was disrupted to a significant extent. Low-lying areas had to bear the brunt of the unrelenting rain, with water gushing into a few houses. Water logging was reported in a few localities of Old Hubballi. Incessant rainfall has revived fears among the residents of a flood akin to what the city had to battle last year.
The rain helped bring down mercury levels in Hubballi-Dharwad, and residents enjoyed the pleasant weather staying indoors.
