Hubballi: The issue of the non-functioning facility of tech giant Infosys at Hubballi came up for discussion at the general body meeting of the Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation on Thursday.
Congress Corporator Suvarna Kallakuntla raised this issue via a calling attention motion. She said that since the facility came up on KIADB land and it is not functioning and the building has been idle for the last few years, “It would be better if we hold our GB meetings there since the HDMC lacks a proper auditorium for the members.” The mayor interrupted her, and since this issue was not related to HDMC, it was the government’s decision to hand over the land for the purpose. Veeranna Savadi requested the mayor to give direction to the concerned to check whether the Infosys company had paid the tax to the HDMC and, if not, send them notice to pay the tax.
