Infosys Ltd, the leading Indian IT company, has achieved a significant feat by being the sole Indian firm to secure a spot in the top 100 of the “World’s Best Companies of 2023” list, jointly curated by TIME Magazine and Statista. Infosys claimed the 64th position among a pool of global enterprises, with tech giants like Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet (Google’s parent company), and Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) dominating the top ranks.
This extensive list, featuring 750 companies, offers insights into the global economic landscape. Rankings were determined based on factors such as revenue growth, employee satisfaction surveys, and stringent assessments of environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) data.
The rankings signify a shift, with agile tech and business service companies superseding traditional manufacturing and consumer goods firms. Tech companies excelled due to their lower carbon emissions and high employee satisfaction. These companies also demonstrated significant financial growth while adhering to social governance principles, like reducing emissions and promoting gender diversity on corporate boards.
Seven other Indian companies also featured on the list: Wipro Ltd (174th), Mahindra Group (210th), Reliance Industries Ltd (248th), HCL Technologies Ltd (262nd), HDFC Bank (418th), WNS Global Services (596th), and ITC Ltd (672nd).
Infosys further solidified its global presence by being named one of the top three professional services companies worldwide.
