Washington: A 24-year-old Indian student, Varun Raj Pucha, who was stabbed at Planet Fitness in Valparaiso in the USA‘s Indiana state on October 29 and admitted to a hospital, has succumbed to his injuries, as reported by local media.
Varun was a computer science student at Valparaiso University, a private university in Indiana near Chicago. He was stabbed in the head with a knife by an accused named Jordan Andrade, 24, at the public gym, and the reasons for the attack are not yet known. The police are still investigating the case and trying to determine the motive for the assault.
Hailing from the Khammam district in Telangana, Varun had moved to the US to pursue an MS in computer science a year and a half ago. He was expected to return to his home after completing his education next year.
