India emerges as second largest mobile manufacturing hub globally

President Ram Nath Kovind stated that India is making rapid progress in electronics production and has emerged as the second-largest mobile phone manufacturing base.
According to Kovind, the value of electronic equipment made in the country climbed to Rs 4.58 lakh crore in 2018-19 from Rs 1.90 lakh crore in 2014-15 in his address to both Houses of Parliament.

In 2014, India’s mobile phone manufacturing industry consisted of only two businesses.
“Today, India is the world’s second-largest mobile manufacturing hub,” he remarked.
Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has posted a KOO in this regard.
