In the Dharwad district, more than 95,000 children who are in the age group of 15–18 years will get the COVID jab from January 3.
Deputy Commissioner Nitesh Patil informed www.hubliexpress.com that they have identified the eligible beneficiaries for the COVID vaccination programme. Special camps would be conducted at the schools and colleges to facilitate students’ getting their jabs. If the students wish to take the vaccine at the nearest health care centre, that is also allowed.
Students can directly walk into the COVID vaccine centre or they can register their names via the COWIN portal. He said the administration has made all the arrangements to start the drive, according to Patil.
The DC said that he would inform the media, whether they (students) would be allowed to register with their Aadhaar numbers or with their ID card numbers.
In a televised address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced the coronavirus vaccine for this age group.
