Mangaluru: An autorickshaw exploded in Mangaluru, Karnataka, for unknown reasons. The police have urged that people be calm as they examine the cause of the explosion, which injured both the driver and a passenger.
People should not worry, according to Mangaluru police commissioner N Sasikumar.
“It is too soon to draw judgments. The driver said he saw the flames. They (the driver and the passenger) are having treatment and are now unable to communicate. We ask that the public refrain from spreading rumours. They should not panic and should remain cool. We will provide an update whenever we speak with them “According to Mr. Sasikumar.
Images from the event show the autorickshaw bursting as it came to a stop on a road near a building under construction.
According to reports, a passenger was carrying a plastic bag that caught fire and spread throughout the vehicle.
The Mangaluru Police Department stated that they are conducting a comprehensive investigation and checking the contents of the passenger’s luggage. A forensics team has taken samples from the scene.
