Koppal: A few candidates who came to write an exam for KPTCL’s junior assistant post at Navachetan Public School in Bhagya Nagar were shocked when they were stopped by the invigilators while entering the exam hall. The reason was that they were wearing a full-sleeved shirts. The exam centre in charge informed candidates who arrived to write the exam wearing full-sleeved shirts that they would not be permitted, citing examination rules.
Local sources said that the KPTCL authorities had clearly instructed the candidates not to come to the exam hall wearing full-sleeved shirts. However, despite this, a few students came to the exam centre wearing such shirts. The exam conductors did not allow such students; they asked the candidates to come in half-sleeved shirts.
Knowing this, a few of them went to nearby clothing stores and purchased new shirts. A few cut their sleeves and made them half sleeves and appeared for the exam. The PSI recruitment scam made the exam conducting authorities conduct exams in a strict manner, said sources.
In the Koppal district, the exams were conducted at 22 centres.
