Hubballi: Ather Energy, India’s first intelligent electric scooter manufacturer, launched its new retail outlet, Ather Space, at Bhairidevarkoppa in association with Bellad Group.
This is the fourth retail outlet of Ather Energy in Karnataka, after two in Bengaluru and one in Mysuru.
At the Ather Space, India’s quickest and smartest scooters, the Ather 450X and 450 Plus, will be available for test ride and purchase.
Tarun Mehta, CEO and Co-Founder of Ather Energy, spoke to reporters on the occasion. In Hubballi, the response to Ather scooters was very good. This made us change our perspective. What we thought was that early adopters of these scooters would be from the tech field and from the residents of metro cities, but Hubballi changed our perspective, and Hubballi’s response to these vehicles was phenomenal. Last month, Hubballi sold as much as the larger cities, like Chennai, sold, “he said.
Ather is a completely made in India product. It is the first OEM product built in India and designed from scratch in India, Mr Mehta said.
“The largest R & D for electric vehicles in India was built by us. Today, the 450x is the fastest accelerating scooter ever sold in India. The fastest accelerating scooter in India is an electric vehicle developed by us and it is completely made in India, which makes us different from others. We are going to be building a benchmark for good product quality, Ather products will be seen in the coming years as the highest quality scooters,” he said.
Ather Energy has invested in building charging infrastructure. The company has installed four points in the city, Ather Grids, which are located at Vidyanagar, Deshpande Nagar, Gokul Road, and Bhairidevarkoppa. These grids are located strategically to make them easily accessible to EV owners across, Hubballi.
Ather Energy also helps customers with setting up home charging solutions in their apartments and residences, said the company in a communiqué.
