Dharwad: The new campus of the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) will be inaugurated in the month of April this year, said Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Coal and Mines Pralhad Joshi.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the IIIT-Dharwad campus on Itigatti Road in Dharwad, Joshi said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone for the campus building work in the year 2019. Efforts would be made to invite Prime Minister Modi and Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan, to inaugurate the new campus.
Joshi said that the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the permanent campus of IIT-D. In all probability, it will also be ready by April, and the plan is to schedule the inauguration at the same time.
The IIIT-Dharwad campus has come upon an area of 60 acres at a cost of Rs. 114 crore.
