I voluntarily resigned to the post: Yediyurappa

After submitting his resignation, BS Yediyurappa took to social media and expressed his gratitude. In a social media post, he wrote. ” It has been an honour to have served the state for the past two years. I have decided to resign as the Chief Minister of Karnataka. I am humbled and sincerely thank the people of the state for giving me the opportunity to serve them.I am grateful to PM @narendramodi Ji, @JPNadda Ji & @AmitShah Ji for their support.”

He expressed gratitude to PM Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP state president J P Nadda on behalf of the people of the state. ” I got an opportunity to run the government for two years. I am indebted to all the supporters and people of my constituency and state,” he said.

Yediyurappa says the Governor has accepted his resignation. There was no pressure from the party top leaders and I voluntarily resigned so that others could get an opportunity to serve the state.  ” I did not propose any name to the post and party high-command will decide on it,” he said.
” I am not interested in any post. I will not accept any post if offered. My intention is to strengthen the party in the state,” he said.
