Hubballi: The Hubballi-Dharwad police continued the arrest of the accused involved in the Saturday night’s violence that rocked a few parts of Old Hubballi, and the police have so far arrested 103 accused in connection with the violence.
The city remained calm on Monday also; the shops were closed by 10.30 PM in a few areas of Old Hubballi. The police kept their eyes on sensitive areas. On Monday, ADGP (Law and Order) Pratap Reddy was in Hubballi. He held a meeting with the police commissioner.
Police Commissioner Labhu Ram said that 14 KSRP platoons, 10 CAR platoons, and 375 police personnel, including six inspectors and two additional superintendents of police, from outside Dharwad district were deployed for the bandobast, including the police personnel attached to the Police Commissionerate.

A Congress party delegation led by MLC Saleem Ahemad and MLA Prasad Abbayya met the Police Commissioner and ADGP at the Commissioner’s office in Navanagar.
Later, speaking to the media, Saleem Ahemad said that innocents should not be arrested in connection with the violence. He said, “We came to know that a few innocents were arrested along with miscreants and asked the Commissioner to take stern action against the accused.”
