Bengaluru: Former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has said that he received information that some innocents who were not part of the Hubballi violence were arrested by the police, and he asked the Police Commissioner not to arrest those who were not involved in it.
He said that he received several phone calls from the family members, and the family members claimed that their wards or relatives were innocent and not at all involved in the violence. The former CM claimed that the police, along with miscreants, arrested some innocents also and spoke to Police Commissioner Labhu Ram in this regard and asked him not to make arrests of those who did not feature in CCTV or in photos captured during the violence.
Kumaraswamy said that the police commissioner assured him that those who were not captured in the footage would be sent home.
The former CM said the police should take severe action against those who attacked the policemen and pelted stones at the temple and hospital.
