Hubballi: Amidst circulating rumors suggesting that some BJP MLAs and former MLAs in Karnataka are considering a return to the Congress, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi responded emphatically, asserting that no one is leaving the BJP.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Joshi said “To the best of my knowledge, all the leaders will remain with the BJP,” “I have discussed this with the state BJP president, and he confirmed that no such developments have occurred. While I cannot predict the future, I firmly believe that the leaders within the BJP will stand by the party and not join the Congress. As for Minister Chaluvaraya Swamy’s statement, I will refrain from commenting.”
Commenting on Minister Ramalinga Reddy’s remark about a suffocating environment within the BJP, Joshi retorted, “He is not a member of the BJP; he is a Congress party leader. How can he make such an assessment?”
Joshi also affirmed that the party would soon select the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly and expressed confidence in securing over 20 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
