Hubballi: Thieves broke into a house in Shivaganga Layout on Kusugal Road and stole away gold ornaments weighing about 80 grams, worth Rs 2.40 lakh.
The thieves gained entry into the residence of Kavita Bendigeri in the wee hours of Sunday, and they stole away one gold necklace weighing 45 grams, one gold bangle weighing about 30 grams, and gold earrings weighing five grams.
The police said that the inmates of the house did not lock one door attached to their kitchen, and the thieves gained entry into the house through this open door. The Keshwapur police have registered a case, and an investigation is going on.
