Hubballi: The Old Hubballi police have solved the Nagaraj Chalwadi murder case by arresting seven accused, including two minors.
Nagaraj, 32, was brutally hacked to death in broad daylight on February 19 while he was serving food for the devotees near a temple in Santosh Nagar, near Nekar Nagar. The accused had thrown chili powder in his eyes before hacking him to death. Personal rivalry is said to be the reason for the murder, according to the Old Hubballi police.

The accused have been identified as Sameer alias Shanu Mulla, 19, a resident of Chabbi Plot; Shashidhar alias Macchi Suranagi, 21, of Nekar Nagar; Nikil Medar, 22, of Ajmer Nagar; Pradeep alias Padya Singhade, 20, of Nekar Nagar; Girish Gudi, 18, of Nekar Nagar; and two minors.
ACP RK Patil and Old Hubballi Inspector SH Yallur led the team that arrested the accused. Police Commissioner Raman Gupta awarded the team a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for their quick resolution of the case.
