Hubballi: The much anticipated four-day unofficial Test match between India A and New Zealand at KSCA Rajanagar Stadium had to be abandoned without a single ball being bowled because of a wet outfield.
The fans’ turnout was good, and they waited hours at the stadium to see their favourite players in action. To their disappointment, the match did not begin. It rained heavily on Wednesday night, and it drizzled on Thursday morning as well. The staff tried to prepare the outfield, but their efforts did not yield a result.
The umpires and referee inspected the field last at 4 pm and they were not satisfied with the condition, hence they called off the day’s play. The match will begin tomorrow (September 9) at 9.30 am.
Cricket lovers had a chance to see famous players such as Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shardul Thakur, Kuldeep Yadav and others while they were on the field warming up. Four years ago, India A and West Indies A played a test match at this venue.
