Hubballi: The Hubballi-Dharwad police have asked residents to take advantage of a 50% discount on traffic fines. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Traffic) Gopal Byakod said those with pending traffic fines can pay them at the Traffic Management Centers, HD One, Karnataka One, or at a traffic police station. They can also pay the fine by simply visiting the traffic cops on duty who have PDAs with them.
As a “one-time measure,” the Transport Department released a circular on Thursday announcing that a 50% reduction in traffic fines can be granted for offences recorded until February 11, 2023.
According to the sources, the Karnataka State Legal Services Authority passed a resolution on January 27, to request the transport department to facilitate “Equal access to justice for everyone” in relation to traffic penalties enforced by the state government in the cities of the state.
The department sent a recommendation based on the resolution offering 50 reductions in payment of traffic fines till February 11. And the department has issued an order in this regard.
The police department has asked the residents to make full use of this opportunity, as it will help them settle their old pending bills. The police also asked the residents to follow traffic rules to avoid any traffic penalties.
