Hubballi: Pralhad Joshi, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines and Coal, announced that Hubballi will soon have a regular flight to Delhi.
Speaking after inaugurating the Beyond Bengaluru programme in Hubballi on Monday organised by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, the minister said that there were some scheduling issues for starting this service and that today (Monday) he would be in New Delhi and convene a meeting with the airline officials and speak to Delhi airport GMR to resolve this issue. Once this issue is solved, Hubballi will have flight connectivity with Delhi.
However, the minister said IndiGo is going to start the service, but he said that soon it would be announced. The minister also said that once the electrification and doubling work gets completed between Hubballi and Bengaluru, the government is eager to launch the Vande Bharat Express rail between these two cities, which can attain a speed of 130 km/hour. He said that the Union Government is committed to the overall development of the tier-two cities in the state and asked investors to invest in Hubballi-Dharwad since the city has excellent weather conditions, good law and order conditions, best infrastructure, and better connectivity to other parts of the state and country.
Karnataka IT and BT Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, former CM Jagadish Shettar, Minister Shankarpatil Munenakoppa, MLA Arvind Bellad and others were present.
