Hubballi: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal Pralhad Joshi, state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel, state BJP in charge Arun Singh, MLAs Jagdish Shettar, Arvind Bellad, Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, and other BJP leaders welcomed Union Home Minister Amit Shah at Hubballi airport on Friday later night.
Shah’s special aircraft landed at Hubballi Airport around 12 a.m. He went straight to the hotel. The CM, ministers, and BJP leaders accompanied him. According to the sources, Shah did not have any meetings with the local leaders. But he is expected to hold an informal meeting at the hotel before he leaves for programmes he will attend in the city.

Hubballi Dharwad Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri welcomed the Union Home Minister by presenting a book to him on Siddaroodha Swamiji. The mayor always welcomes dignitaries by giving them books, instead of garlands or bouquets.
The late mayor, Sudhir Saraf, used to welcome dignitaries in the same way. He used to present books from his personal collection.
