
Hubballi: With the state assembly elections nearing, the twin cities police conducted a rowdy parade at the Kasabapet police station limits on Wednesday evening.
The parade has increased significance as the elections are approaching fast, and there will be a flurry of events to entice voters, and the city may witness visits of VVIPs before the poll day. More than 100 rowdy sheeters were summoned for the parade and they were warned strictly against taking law into their hands.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sahil Bagla enquired about their recent activities, with the Police Inspectors of their respective stations providing details about the history sheeters. Police Commissioner Raman Gupta said that stern warnings were given to the rowdy-sheeters.
He said, “More than 100 rowdy-sheeters were paraded last evening and have been warned against indulging in any illegal activities. Some 5-6 rowdy-sheeters were also externed.”
