Hubballi: A 40-year-old bus conductor attached to NWKRTC’s Hubballi City Depot-1 died after suffering a cardiac arrest while he was on duty on a Hubballi Gamangatti bus on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Hugar, a resident of Yalburga taluk in Koppal district. The sources said that the incident happened when the bus was on its way to Gamangatti from CBT. At the BVB stop, two ticket-checking officers, Mangala Hosamani and Ayatti, boarded the bus. They started checking the tickets of the passengers, and the conductor all of a sudden collapsed at that point.
The ticket-checking officers immediately sent the conductor to the KIMS Hospital, hiring an auto with the bus driver, but by the time they reached KIMS, the conductor was no more. The doctors immediately tried to perform an ECG. The report showed a flat line, said the sources.
