Hubballi: A 17-year-old boy drowned in a pond-like structure created in an open land where rainwater was collected on Thursday evening. The incident happened in Kusugal village, within the Hubballi Rural police station limit.
The police said that the water was collected in the pond-like structure. It was a NA land, and locals said he had gone to wash his tractor; some claim he went for a swim, but the exact reason he had gone there is not yet known. The inspector said the police had reached the spot, gathering more details about the incident and how the boy drowned in it.
