Hubballi: A police constable attached to Hubballi Rural Police was brutally stabbed by a 29-year-old man on the premises of the police in Bandiwad village on Friday.
The injured has been identified as Mahantesh Mahadev Maddagol, 25, and the accused has been identified as Suresh Shivanand Bandiwad, 29, a resident of Bandiwad village.
The accused had stabbed constable Mahantesh for reasons not yet known. It is said that Mahantesh had scolded Shivanand for doing something wrong in the village.
The injured police officer has been hospitalized. According to police sources, the accused has been arrested, and a case has been registered in this regard.
