Hubballi: A 62-year-old man died on Friday morning as he fell into the gap between the platform and the footboard while boarding a Bengaluru-Hubballi passenger at Hubballi South station.
Police identified the deceased as Prakash B, a resident of Bengaluru’s Vinobha Nagar; he was travelling with his family to attend a family function in Dharwad, said the police.
PSI Sateppa Mukkanavar told www.hubliexpress.com the incident occurred around 9.30 a.m. when the deceased alighted at Hubballi South station to bring soHubme food but did not find any shops. When the train began moving, he attempted to board the coach but lost his balance, fell in the gap between the platform and the footboard, and died. Hubballi Railway Police have registered a case.
