Horatti urges the CM to tread on Rajasthan’s path and asks him to roll back the new pension scheme.

Bengaluru: The Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council, Basavaraj Horatti, has hailed the Government of Rajasthan’s decision to roll back the new pension scheme, also known as the new pension system.

The Rajasthan government’s decision to implement the old pension scheme was a welcome one, as it means that the state government has provided security for the future of its government employees. He said the Rajasthan government’s decision is highly appreciable.

Hotatti has requested Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to take a similar decision and asked him to make the announcement of rolling back the NPS while presenting the state budget on March 4.

Horatti said employees joining the government services on or after April 2006 in the state were brought under the NPS, which does not give a feeling of security after their retirement. Hence, CM should consider abandoning NPS and returning to OPS.

Horatti also urged the CM to implement the seventh pay commission’s recommendation so that discrimination in salaries between state and union government employees could end.
