Home Minister G Parameshwara at Old Hubballi police station on Friday

Hubballi,by Hubli Express News: Home Minister G Parameshwara paid an unannounced visit to the Old Hubballi police station during his brief stay in the city on Friday. The Old Hubballi station is known to be one of the sensitive police stations under the Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissionerate.

During his visit, the minister engaged with the station staff, gaining firsthand insights into various aspects such as FIR registration and passport verifications. His interaction with the staff was brief but impactful, as he encouraged them to operate in a more people-friendly manner.

Subsequently, while addressing reporters, G Parameshwara explained that his impromptu visit was aimed at assessing the efficiency of the station’s operations and the responsiveness of its staff to public concerns. He emphasized the importance of evaluating the station’s performance.

Responding to questions about a violent incident that had occurred in front of the Old Hubballi police station approximately a year ago, Parameshwara clarified that his visit was not related to the inquiry of that specific incident. He acknowledged that the legal process would address that issue. However, he mentioned that several individuals, including innocent parties, were arrested in connection with the violence, as stated by the local MLA and the families of the arrested individuals. He further noted that he had received numerous memorandums regarding this matter.

The Home Minister indicated that a suitable decision on this issue would be made after discussions within the cabinet sub-committee.

During his visit to the station, Police Commissioner Renuka Sukumar and other senior police officers were also present.
