Hubballi: Members of Anjuman-e-Islam staged a protest in Hubballi demanding the Chief Minister, Basavaraj Bommai, to solve the hijab issue.
They staged a protest in front of Tahsildar’s office and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister via Tahsildar. Protesters claimed that the government’s decision to prohibit the hijab in colleges is part of a plan to keep Muslim girl students from attending classes. It was pure politics to divert people’s attention from the burning issues of the education field.
They urged the Chief Minister to solve the controversy by keeping the education of the Muslim female students in mind and without hurting their religious sentiments.
