Bengaluru: In a surprising turn of events, one of the influential ministers in Basavaraj Bommai’s cabinet, Dr. K. Sudhakar, was defeated by Congress candidate Pradeep Ishwar.
Despite an intense campaign led by Dr. Sudhakar, which included the participation of Telugu star Brahmanandam, Kannada star Sudeep, and other Sandalwood stars, he was unable to secure a win. Dr. Sudhakar was given the additional responsibility of ensuring the victory of BJP candidates contesting from Bengaluru Rural and Kolar district, which made his defeat even more shocking. The margin of his defeat was approximately 10,000 votes.
