Rejuvenation and development of Tolankere and adjacent park by the Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City Limited (HDSCL), has become a popular destination for visitors in the twin cities due to its attractive features and amenities. The park and lake are especially popular among morning walkers and have gained a reputation as a top recreational spot.
The development work carried out at Tolankere has been recognized with the Best Practice Award for 2021-22. The Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) was awarded first prize in the line department category for its rejuvenation initiative at Tolankere. This accomplishment has been documented in the Best Practice Catalogue of CMAK for the year 2021-22. KUIDFC is the nodal agency for smart city projects in the state.
The award ceremony took place in Bengaluru on Monday, where officers from HDSCL, Aziz Desai, and Channabasavaraj, accepted the prize. HDSCL competed against 44 other urban local bodies and six smart cities in the Best Practices Award category, making this achievement all the more impressive. The prize includes a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh and a memento.
