The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) has decided to start a drive to catch stray pigs in the twin cities. In a communique, HDMC Commissioner Dr. Gopal Krishna said that they had instructed pig rears not to leave them in the residential areas, but despite this, the owners continued the practice of rearing them in the residential areas. He said pig owners would have two more days to shift the pigs, or else the HDMC would start a drive to catch them in the next two days.

The HDMC commissioner said the corporation has been receiving many complaints from the residents regarding the pig menace and based on their complaints, the corporation would launch the drive in the next two days if the pig owners failed to move them.
