This budget is the largest in the corporation’s history, exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, with the previous budget being Rs 834 crore. Menasinkai’s goal was to bring administration closer to the people, and he presented a surplus budget of Rs 8 lakh crore with a total size of Rs 1,138.46 crore. The corporation is expected to earn Rs 663 crore in revenue this year, with the central and state governments contributing Rs 464.65 crore in grants.
To increase revenue, the corporation will launch a special drive to fine builders who did not obtain a building completion certificate by identifying such cases, with the aim of generating Rs 10 crore. Additionally, the budget includes a grant of Rs 75 lakh for each ward’s development and Rs 5 crore for the development of 51 villages within the Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation limits.
