HDMC imposes a fine of Rs 5,000 on a person for dumping debris

The Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation staff caught a person red-handed while dumping debris on Gokul Cross on Gokul Road on Tuesday and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on him.

Jyoti BH, an environmental engineer, Yallamma Chalageri, a health inspector, and other personnel apprehended a man named Shivaji who was dumping debris on the sides of the road at Gokul Cross.

HDMC Commissioner Suresh Itnal stated that his team was doing frequent rounds on Tarihal Road, Savadatti Road, Kusugal Road, Gadag Road, Karwar Road, Gabbur Road, and other main roads of the twin cities and that if they spotted any waste dumpers disposing of garbage in public places, they would be penalized and their vehicles would be seized.
