Hubballi, by Hubli Express News Service: HDMC Commissioner, Dr. Ishwar Ullagaddi, granted permission for the celebration of the Ganesh festival at Idgah Maidan in Hubballi.
The permission was formally handed over to the BJP and Hindu leaders on Friday night. The Rani Channamma Maidan Gajanan Utsav Samiti, led by its president, advocate Sanjeev Badskar, received the authorization letter from the HDMC Commissioner, with the presence of MLAs Arvind Bellad and Mahesh Tenginkai.
Notably, this marks the continuation of a tradition as the Samiti was granted a three-day celebration permit, just as in previous year. In a departure from the past, the HDMC decided to waive any charges for the event but introduced a few conditions.
This significant development brought an end to the day and night Dharna staged by BJP members and leaders, which had commenced on Thursday afternoon. Present at the occasion were former mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, BJP Corporator Veeranna Savadi, Shivu Hiremath along with Santosh Chavan, Tippanna Majagi, and others.
