Bengaluru: The Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Mines, and Coal, Pralhad Joshi, in a special meeting convened to discuss and solve the drinking water problems being faced by the residents of the twin cities, has instructed L&T company to take all the responsibilities of supplying water within 15 days and ensure that they supply water to the residents at least once every five days.
In Bengaluru, the meeting was presided over by state Urban Development Minister BA Basavaraj. Joshi has also warned that if the contractors failed to supply water regularly, then strict action would be taken against them. He clearly stated that they should supply water to the residents at least once every five days and that any negligence or delay would not be tolerated.
Despite having bountiful rains this year, the water is being supplied once a week or 10 days in many areas of the twin cities and to solve this problem, a meeting was convened, according to sources.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Iresh Anchatgeri, Minister Halappa Achar, MLC Basavaraj Horatti, and MLA Arvind Bellad.
