According to music company T-Series, a rendition of “Hanuman Chalisa” featuring Gulshan Kumar and sung by Hariharan has become the first Indian video on YouTube to reach three billion views.
The 9:41-minute video of “Hanuman Chalisa” is the most popular rendition of Tulsidas’ Hindu devotional hymn devoted to Lord Hanuman, and its melody is known to followers worldwide.
The video has received over 12 million “likes” since it was posted on YouTube in May 2011.
