Gokul Road Police nab two accused and recover stolen car from them

Hubballi: Police staff’s routine check-up of documents of the vehicles during the lockdown period helped the Gokul Road police to nab two accused who were driving a stolen car on Sunday afternoon.

The police team led by Gokul Road Inspector JM Kalimirchi was on vehicle documents checking duty. The team intercepted a red-colour Swift car (KA 53- MA- 3126) entering the city. The police asked the driver and fellow passengers to show the documents, but they failed to show them. Then the police asked who they were and why they were from and why they came to Hubballi city to these questions, they did not answer properly.

The police grew suspicious of them and brought them to the station along with the car and during the investigation; they found they stole the car, and they seized the car.

The accused have been identified as Tanveer Khasimsab Syed,20, a resident of Vaibhav Nagar, Belagavi and he is a carpenter by profession and the second accused is Tanjeem Ismail Khanapuri, 31, a native of Khanapur and a driver by profession.

The police have also found that the second accused was also involved in many cheating cases registered at various stations and he was absconding without appearing before the court.

The police said they yet to get more details in this case.
