Hubballi: The Gokul Road Bus Stand, which has been operational for nearly two decades, has finally been brought under CCTV net. The cameras will offer passengers a sense of security.
Eight cameras were positioned at strategic positions around the bus station. At the earliest, officials added, another eight cameras would be installed at various spots throughout the bus station.
The police department installed these cameras with the help of private donors. Inspector JM Kalimirchi of the Gokul Road police station, North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation Hubballi rural division controller H Ramangoudar visited the bus stand and they discussed steps to be taken to enhance the security at the bus stand.
Inspector Kalimirchi, speaking at the event, stated that the police have taken steps to improve security at the bus station. He stated that a total of 16 cameras would be installed in the bus terminal, eight of which have already been installed.
