Koppal: A German national who was staying in Sanapur village after touring Hampi, Anegundi, and other surrounding historical sites in Koppal and Vijayanagar district tested positive for COVID. The administration has sent the sample of the nasopharyngeal swab for genome testing for the identification of variants.
The 33-year-old German tested positive in the rapid antigen test after developing symptoms of viral infection, according to sources. The sources also stated that his friend tested negative but asked to remain in isolation. The foreign national was staying in Sanapur, and they were asked to remain isolated in their homestays. In Sanapur, Anegundi, and Hanumanhalli, many foreign nationals are staying in homestays, and this incident has worried the residents.
