Gadag: A man killed two persons for forcing him to go to work in Shirahatti taluk in Gadag district on Friday.
Police sources said that Manjunath Desalli, a resident of Alagilawada in Gadag district, had allegedly killed Mahantesh Machenahalli, 28, and Fakkiresh Machenahali, 17, both residents of Kerahalli, with sticks.
The police said that Manjunath Desalli had allegedly borrowed an advance payment from Mahantesh for looking after sheep (herd), but after taking the money, he did not turn up for the job, and Mahantesh went to his village and brought him to Kerahalli and asked him to repay the advance by doing the job on Thursday evening.
After a brief argument with Mahantesh, the accused agreed to repay the advance money by doing the work despite not having interest to do the work said the police and added that on Thursday night, Manjunath had dinner with Mahantesh and family members, and Mahantesh, Manjunath, and Mahantesh’s nephew, Fakkiresh all went to sleep on the terrace and in the wee hours, the accused killed Mahantesh and Fakkiresh while they were fast asleep with sticks and fled the scene said police.
