Former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe critical, and doctors trying hard to save him


“Former PM Shinzo Abe was shot in Nara about 11:30 a.m. A man in his 40s, believed to be the assassin, has been apprehended. The current state of former Prime Minister Abe is unknown “Hirokazu Matsuno, chief cabinet secretary, told reporters.

He was giving a speech, ahead of the Upper House elections on Sunday when this incident happened, said Japanese reports. He was airlifted to a hospital, and his vitals are weak.  Abe is a longest-serving PM of Japan, he stepped down from the post two years ago citing his ill health. After the incident, Japan is on high alert.
