Former CM Kumaraswamy stirred controversy while commenting on KRS Dam issue

Former Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy stirred controversy on Monday when he asked Mandya MP and actress Sumalatha Ambareesh to sleep in front of the Krishna Raja Sagar (KRS) reservoir’s gates to prevent seepage.

Fans of late Sandalwood star Ambareesh have reacted angrily to his words against the MP.

Sumalatha had expressed concern about leaking in the KRS reservoir at a meeting in Mandya, prompting Kumaraswamy’s response.

After meeting with Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Kumaraswamy told reporters that she was speaking as if she was the sole protector of the KRS Dam. “If the gates are leaking, make her to sleep in front of the gates to stop it from leaking. She was chosen solely on the basis of sympathy. Mandya has never had an MP like her and will never have one again “he stated

His mentality is reflected by his remark: Sumalath

Sumalatha said former CM Kumaraswamy’s remark about her demonstrates his attitude. She expressed her concern based on the disaster management committee’s report, saying she brought the problem to the attention of Union Jal Shakthi Minister and during debate on the Dam Safety Bill in Parliament over the dam’s hazard due to illegal mining in the dam’s vicinity
